Cottage Theatre - Art by Sujo

Welcome!

If you haven't been to our theatre before, you're in for a treat. We've got a unique state-of-the art facility which was built with community support in 1998 and expanded in 2006. Our intimate house seats 150, so your're never far from the action on stage. We've got a spacious lobby (with ample bathrooms!) and air-conditioning for the summer. We happen to think we're pretty lucky to have a facility like this in Cottage Grove, our "little town that could" (population circa 10,000)! We've even got pleanty of nearby resturants whose chefs will be glad to feed you before our shows!

Discover local talent
Newcomers to Cottage Theatre are pleasantly surprised and impressed by the acting talent of their neighbors and friends, who might be teachers, accountants, or retail clerks by day. All of our actors, directors and crew members are volunteers - and productions created by people who "do it for love, not money" have a special magic all their own. If you come a few times, you're bound to recognize some favorite actors, since once people act here, they tend to come back. However, almost every CT show attracts first-timers to our stage, so there are new talents to discover and enjoy each time you come.

We're easy to find
Cottage Theatre is located at 700 Village Drive in Cottage Grove, just of I-5 at exit 174. We're right across the street from the new hospital. Click here for directions.

Especially for families

Cottage Theatre is a family-friendly place. Parents and children (and sometimes grandparents) work side-by-side on our productions. Most of our shows are appropriate for children who are old enough to sit still for a couple hours (usually that's around six years of age, but we trust you to know your own children best). When we occasionally present material that might not be suitable for all ages, we'll attache a "mature themes" label so you're not surprised. If you ever have questions about whether one of our shows will suit your family, please give us a call.  We want you to have a positive experience at CT - and come back many times!
